Here’s fab red Bordeaux that’s bang on for drinking now.

This Cru Bourgeois Exceptional Chateau is situated in the Haut-Medoc on Bordeaux’s ‘Left Bank’. It’s a blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot. It’s aged for 12 months in barrique (35% new) before bottling.

2018 was a warm and variable vintage but Chateau La Pelouse have certainly pulled this one out the bag. There’s plenty of intensity and ripeness but this is beautifully balanced with leafy herb flavours and soft tannins. A really gorgeous finish makes this Exceptional in both name and value.
