Delivery & Returns

Local Delivery

We offer free local delivery on orders above £50 to the following postcodes:

  • CT1, CT2, CT3, CT4, CT5, CT14, CT15, CT16
  • ME13
  • SE3, SE9, SE10.

Delivery to SE postcodes is usually on a Wednesday, please order by 12pm on Tuesday to receive a same-week delivery. We aim to deliver all other local orders as quickly as possible. Once you’ve placed your order, we will be in touch to let you know when you can expect your items. 

Nationwide Delivery

We aim to deliver to most other Mainland UK postcodes within 48 hours, subject to stock availability. The cost of shipping is £9.50 or free for orders over £150. There is a surcharge for the Isle of White and some parts of Northern Scotland plus the Islands with a delivery charge of £15.95 for orders under £150 for the following postcodes – AB, DD, FK, IV, KW, KY99, PA20 -PA80, PH3-PH50, PO30-PO41, HS, ZE

There is a minimum amount of £50 for all orders.

Unfortunately we do not currently ship to Northern Ireland or internationally at this time. However, you can arrange for your own courier if you require. 

Missed Deliveries

Our courier company will leave a contact card if you are not in. When you receive this card you need to contact the courier directly to re-arrange a suitable delivery day. Please contact them as soon as possible. They will also get in touch via text or email once your order has been processed.

You can leave an instruction at the time of ordering for parcels to be left with a neighbour (please use the notes section at checkout) however due to licensing laws it is now no longer possible for packages to be left anywhere without the signature of a consenting adult (18 or over).

If you are sending the wine as a gift to somebody else, please check their availability (i.e. that they are not on holiday or away from home)

Damaged or Faulty Goods

Customers are requested to examine all goods at the time of delivery. If the parcel is damaged, you can refuse to sign for it and the parcel will be returned to us so we can arrange for a replacement to be sent. 

Alternatively you can accept the delivery but please note down any damage, and claims for breakages or shortages must be made within 24 hours of delivery by contacting orders@songbirdwine.co.uk. 

In the unlikely event that a wine is corked upon opening it, please do contact us and we can arrange for a replacement to be sent. 

Vintage Changes

We will supply an ensuing vintage when the quoted is no longer available. Please state in the notes at checkout, if you do not want an ensuing vintage. We will get in touch if the ordered vintage is not in stock.

Stock Availability

In the ever changing world of wine it may be that sometimes we are unable to get hold of an item. We will notify you as soon as possible should this be the case, and will recommend an alternative. 


Should you require a refund for any of the above reasons, we are able to offer you store credit or a full credit back to the card that was used to make the original payment. This could take up to 5 days to complete.
