A beautifully pure and juicy red from northern Spain.

Bodegas Madai is owned by Gonzalo Amigo and brother Daniel. With both pursuing other successful careers, they hadn’t really considered owning a winery, but when the option of either selling or recovering their grandparents’ vineyards came up, they felt the latter was the only choice and Bodegas Madai was born. After tasting all their wines I can safely vouch that they definitely made the right decision.

From 80-year-old vines. For an entry level red this has excellent fruit, structure and complexity. There’s no oak here but that works in its favour as it allows the black cherry and brambly fruit to blend nicely with the herbal earthiness. Great stuff and a super late summer red.
