A fantastic Cava Reserva that’s new to the UK market and sums up the exceptional quality coming from this exciting region.

This delicious Cava is a superb effort from the family owned Fermi Bohigas estate based in the Penedes region. The vineyards are around the Anoia river basin close to the town of Odena. The vines sit at an altitude of around 500m in clay and limestone soil. The blend is 55% Xarel-lo, 30% Macabeo and 15% Parellada. As with all Cava it goes through the methode traditionnelle process of secondary fermentation and has at least 18 months ageing in bottle.

This is exactly what quality Cava is all about and many small producers are doing so well. It has superb freshness and a vibrant citrus character. There’s also a hint of cinnamon on the nose and a delicate, creamy mousse. This is a Cava that expresses its terroir beautifully and you’ll be hard pressed to find a better bottle of fizz at this price.
