A totally stonking Stockinger aged Chardonnay that drinks like a wine twice its price.

Somewhat Known is a side project by the ultra-talented Wildeberg winemaker JD Roussouw. It is a one barrel only production, but what a barrel he uses – a demi-maud Stockinger, considered the finest oak barrels in the world.

This is a wine that perfectly exudes precision, poise and balance. It’s rich but elegant, complex and pure. It’s probably one of the best Chardonnays you’ll taste under £20, it’s just a shame they make so little of it. Amazingly it’s only 12.5% alcohol.

Seriously good stuff.
