Caparzo is one of Montalcino’s historic wineries that have contributed to the fame of Brunello di Montalcino. One of their strongpoints is they have vineyards in most of Montalcino’s best areas which allows them to source the finest fruit for every vintage. DOCG laws dictate only a limited amount of Brunello can be produced (and that it must be aged for five years before release) so there are plenty of grapes of outstanding quality that do not make the ‘Grand Vin’. Caparzo blends this ‘sacred’ juice with Sangiovese sourced from other vineyards in their estate to make this brilliant red produced for early release.

It is vinified in stainless steel to retain the freshness of fruit which make it perfect for drinking when young – no need to wait five years for this beauty!

A wonderful intensity on the nose with strawberry, red cherry and spice. The palate bursts with ripe berry fruit and has a soft, warm texture. The finish is full and has a purity of fruit that can’t fail to charm. This succulent red really is youthful Sangiovese at its best.

Crack into a bottle of this with a bowl of spaghetti with fresh tomato and basil sauce.
