Think Barbera is the poor man’s Nebbiolo? Well one taste of Vajra’s Barbera d’Alba and that thought will be permanently banished from your mind.

Produced from grapes sourced from six different vineyards, including four in Barolo, this really is a super drop if red. There’s a wonderful expression of fruit here which is achieved by minimum intervention at the winery – just let the grapes do their stuff!

The estate was established in 1972 and is now considered one the region’s finest producers of both Barolo and Barbera.

2018 was yet another outstanding vintage in Piemonte and this is immediately evident on first sniff. Ripe dark fruits and an underlying power help make this a totally irresistible wine with plenty of longevity.
