Delightful ‘midweek’ Chianti made from 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo grapes grown on the warm hillsides of Tuscany.

The winery Uggiano was founded in the early 1970s and is now one of the leading producers in the Chianti Colli Fiorentini zone. They make wine to suit all budgets and always deliver great value whatever the price tag.

The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged for six months in old oak barrels. This gives the wine a mature savouriness but there is plenty of vibrant youthful dark fruit to balance this beautifully. Decent bit of spice on the finish polishes things off nicely.

This is an ideal wine to enjoy on a lazy evening with a takeout pizza on a comfy sofa but it works really well with richer dishes. Funky label too.
