NV Rosso del Palazzone, Vino da Tavola, Il Palazzone, Tuscany

£18.75 inc. VAT

Red Alert Brunello lovers!

This bizarrely named wine holds a secret. The secret being that it is made up from declassified Brunello di Montalcino grapes. All the fruit from the estate is vinified and aged in barrel as if they were destined to become Brunello however, as the winery only produces around 1000 cases of the ‘Grande Vin’ a proportion are declassified to make the Vino Rosso blend. The wine is a NV (Non Vintage) because it usually consists of juice from 2-3 different vintages. The result is a delicious Brunello style wine for early drinking but has the legs for a few years ageing too. Outstanding value.

Ripe red cherry aromas with a hint of liquorice and spice. Great structure and lovely dark cherry fruit on the palate and fresh tannins. This ‘baby’ Brunello really sings after time in the glass so well worth decanting.

This current release is Lot 1/20 and is a blend of 50% 2016 & 50% 2019 vintage. It is 100% Sangiovese grape.
