2022 Pouilly-Fumé ‘Pierre à Fusil’ Domaine Bouchié-Chatellier

£23.50 inc. VAT

A delicious Pouilly Fumé that has wowed the judges at Decanter Magazine recently.

This wine scores a whopping 96 points in the recently published Must Try Sauvignon Blancs article. It shares second place with the likes of Pavillon Blanc du Chateau Margaux & Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc – with both of these wine fetching over £100 a bottle.

Made from selected plots grown on the shelly, flinty, kimmeridgian clay of the Saint-Andelain hill overlooking the Loire river. These plots are vinified separately and gently using gravity feeding and low temperatures to settle the must. Fermentation takes places over three weeks under regulated temperatures, followed by time on the fine lees.

Flinty and aromatic with aromas of grapefruit and lime. Amazing concentration with the ripe citrus fruit nicely balanced with mouth-watering acidity. A stunning example of Sauvignon Blanc.

“Light citric and grapefruit aromas; attractive mouthfilling texture, good balancing acidity and a vibrant, long finish…Great intensity with lingering lime and greengage.” 96 points, Decanter Magazine
