2021 Terra de Cuques, Terroir al Limit, Priorat

Terra de Cuques is 70% Garnacha Blanca and 30% Pedro Ximenez (yes, the grape that makes Sherry) and it’s absolutely stunning!

The winery was founded in 2001 by a food and wine obsessed German named Dominik Huber, along with a South African winemaker Eben Sadie. We highly recommend this winery to any lover of wines of purity, finesse and winemaking that’s as close to nature as possible.

The vines are 25-35 years old and sit between 400-600m. Grapes are all hand-picked and fermented with native yeasts in cement and stainless steel and then macerated with skins for 20 days. It is then aged in cement for a further 6 months and bottled without fining or filtration and just a touch a sulphur.

The colour of this wine is deep but incredibly inviting. The nose is fresh and floral with citrus, a little apricot and herbs. On the palate the wine has superb texture plus wonderful purity and expression. Vibrant citrus and apricot with rounded but fresh finish. This is a wine made for gastronomy and would certainly enhance any dining experience.
