2019 La Miranda de Secastilla, Viñas del Vero, DO Somontano

£13.75 inc. VAT

One of the best examples of Garnacha Blanca in this price range.

The vineyards of the Secastilla Valley are located in the north-eastern corner of Somontano and have a special
“Mediterranean microclimate” suitable for growing olives, vines and almond trees. On stony slopes above 700
meters above sea level, we have recovered very old vineyards of Garnacha Tinta and Garnacha Blanca, the
traditional varieties of the Secastilla Valley. The relative altitude and its special orientation make it an area with
many hours of sunshine, which favors the ripening of the fruit. This entire zone is of dry land and the soils are
franco-sandy with enough stoniness

Fermentation takes place in stainless steel and then the wine is aged for four months in French oak. Subtle flavours of citrus to begin with but it really opens up after a few minutes in the glass with lovely stone fruit characters showing through.

If you’re looking for a dry white that’s a change from Sauvignon Blanc then I highly recommend you give this a go.
