A superb ‘Barolo style’ Nebbiolo from a producer with vineyards within and just out of the Barolo region.

This winery was established in the late 18^th Century and is based in La Morra, just outside Barolo. They have prized vineyards within the Barolo zone and produce wine that are much lauded by wine critics around the world. Most of the fruit for this wine is sourced from a vineyard in La Morra and is aged in large oak casks for one year.

The result is a wine that echoes many characteristics of Barolo – meaty, smoky, red cherry fruit and hints of leather and herbs. Shows the more muscular characteristics of Nebbiolo. Lovely now but does benefit from decanting which shows it has plenty of life ahead of it.

Divine with pork chop (yes again).
