There’s a lot of popularity with subtle reds at the moment but every now and then it’s good to enjoy a good, full-bodied monster like this.
The vineyard is just outside of Cadiz and includes plantings of the nearly forgotten variety of Tintilla de Rota which makes 18% of the blend of this wine. The rest of the blend is 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Syrah and 2% Petit Verdot. It is aged in American and French oak for 12 months and then for a further 12 months in bottle before being released.
This has great intensity immediately after opening and is full of dark fruit flavours like blackcurrant, plum and blueberry. It has great structure and richness and is incredibly satisfying. If you like Malbec then this is right up your straße.
Great with rich, red meat and it will stand up to many spicy dishes.
